HELPFUL HINTS
Helpful hints to minimise dust and damage in and around your
home. |
|
 |
To stop dust from spreading through the
home, QuickStrip recommends you hang disposable drop sheets
in the doorways so that only the area being worked in is
affected. Also, take down any pictures or ornaments on which
dust can settle. |
|
 |
If
the cupboards do not have a floor/wall covering inside them
that needs to be removed, tape the doors shut to prevent any
dust getting in. That way any items inside shouldn’t need
washing. Alternatively,
Empty the contents of cupboards especially where there are
tiles on the inside of the cupboard e.g. Pantry & linen
closet. |
|
 |
It is
important that air can flow through the room/s. Make sure
that doors and windows are able to be opened. |
|
 |
To
prevent dust from damaging electrical equipment eg. Stereos,
TV’s, etc. Remove these from the surrounding areas to
prevent any dust related problems. |
|
 |
Access to the area is very important. Remove as much
furniture as possible; this may include dishwashers,
refrigerators’ and washing machines, depending on the area
being worked. |
|
 |
If
any works are taking place in a toilet or bathroom, you need
to have the plumbing sealed off and tap ware removed if wall
tiles are being removed as well as the toilet removed and
sealed off by a plumber before work can commence. |
 |
Provide easy access to the outside for the removal of
materials from the area being worked, this will prevent the
QuickStrip team from needing to walk through the rest of the
home eliminating the spread of any dust. |
 |
·
To prevent dust on
vertical blinds – Tie or pin blinds together and cover with
a fitted sheet |
 |
·
Please note that floor preparation is very noisy – it is
advisable to let your neighbours know when the work will be
commencing – particularly if the work is to be carried
out in units or townhouses. Also, permission may need to
be sought from the Body Corporate.
